Beautiful Dutch Butterfly

This sketch is our inspiration for this week's challenge at Less is More
I do like sketch challenges, I love to see how everyone interprets the sketch.  Chrissie and Mandi always make such beautiful cards and I was especially inspired by their lovely work, here's my card:
I recently received this beautiful Dutch butterfly from Mariette, isn't it pretty.  I colored in the butterfly with distress inks.  Other items used: Hero Arts friends background stamp, Martha Stewart border punch and a gem.  Thanks for stopping by :)

Happiness is all around

The colors for this week's challenge at the Play Date Cafe:  are blue, goldenrod and peony; here's the inspiration photo:
I have had my eyes on the Dotted flower cling set from Hero Arts for some time and finally added these pretty stamps to my collection.  When I saw the colors for the challenge this week, I knew I would use these pretty little flowers for my card:
The Happiness stamp is from Blockhead stamps and the Lattice Background stamp is from Hero Arts.

Case Study 101

I have had this sunflower and dragonfly set of stamps by Bo Bunny for some time now.  Never used, what on earth is that about?  Anyway, when I saw the challenge at Case Study this week, I though of this little stamp set and came up with this card:
Our inspiration for this week's challenge at Case Study is this pretty card by Kristi Lockart:

I added most of the elements in Kristi's card to my card, however switched out the bird with dragonflies.  I always wondered what it would be like to flap my wings and fly :)

Just a warm hello

Spring has turned into Summer and the tulips have gone to sleep until next Spring, but I wanted to keep them around for a while longer, so I made this card:
The stamp is from Blockhead stamps, added a little stripped twine, some pearls, design paper and a sentiment stamp from Hero Arts :)

Friends in Pink

Pink is the color I used for my interpretation of this week's sketch at Retro Sketches.
The pretty felt flower is my center point; I then added 3 different patterned papers, some pearls, a ribbon and a little piece of twine - A card is born :)

Happiness

I love swings, they make me sooooo happy.  I cannot pass a swing without swinging, ask anyone who knows me, they'll tell you :)  Anyway, the challenge cue card over at CAS-ology this week is "Happy".  The first thing I thought of was swings, yes swings.  This little Innocent stamp from My Favorite Things is a favorite of mine and fit the challenge perfectly, so here she is:
Have a wonderful day, imagine, play and create!  And by all means do not pass a swing set without swinging for a while :)

New Challenge Blog - CASology

Oh, I just love making cards for challenges and there is a new challenge site called CASology!  The name says it all Clean And Simple.  The very first challenge is "Sun" and I was so happy to see this because I just added this cute Northwoods sun stamp to my collection.  Here's my card:
I really wasn't too sure that this card would be considered CAS because of the gingham background, but I just love this gingham paper and thought it went so well with this card.  Items used: Northwoods sun and clouds stamp, Hero Arts smile stamp, gingham paper, stickles, diamond glazed, watercolor pencils and pop dots.

Simon Says Tags or ATC's

Tags or ATC's, this is the Wednesday challenge at the Simon Says Challenge Blog this week.  It's been a while since I made a tag or an ATC, so I jumped right in.  The DT used Tim Holz products for their creations, so I used TH distress inks for my tag and card.  I put both my tag and card into a collage because I liked both separate and combined.
Items used: Hero Arts card art journey stamp, glitz rub on, unknown brick background stamp, Graphics 45 flower, SU brad,  ribbon, tule and design papers.

A warm hello

For this week's challenge over at Less is More we are asked to create a card using the LIM header as inspiration; here's the pretty header:
Thinking about this header I realized that I very rarely use flourishes in my cards.  Not sure why, but I'm happy with this card, I may just use flourishes a little more.  Here it is:
I used Stampin' Up stamps and a Hero Arts sentiment stamp fo rthis card.  Thanks for taking a look :)

Summer Memories

Chickens, you could call them cute, I do.  I have always liked chickens and roosters as a matter of fact one of my neighbors has a rooster and his early morning crowing doesn't bother me at all.  Anyway, when I saw this cute Lockhart chickie stamp I had to have it :)  The challenge over at Retro Sketches this week is this sketch:
I took a little artistic license with the sketch and moved things around alittle, but the basic sketch properties are still here:
A chicken dressed in her finery, a little lace and twine, a pretty button, watercolor pencils, checkerboard paper and a lacey punch.  Thanks for taking a peek :)

Case Study #97

I went stamp shopping yesterday "What?" stamp shopping again?  I found 3 Lockhart stamps that I just had to have; I used one for this week's challenge over at Case Study  The challenge is to case this pretty card by Joy Taylor:
Another new craze lately is wasi tape, so I finally  purchased some trendy tape and must say I like it, it gave my card an extra bit of Pizazz:, what do you think:
Items used: Lockhart african violets stamp, SU sentiment stamp, Dear Lizzy Neapolitan paper, trendy tape and gems.
