Fusion #2

This weeks Fusion #2 challenge is to take inspiration from the following photo, you can check the  Fusion challenge out HERE.

I created my card using the colors in the photo and the sketch design, here it is:

I wasn't sure I could make a pretty card using the colors in the photo, however I'm happy with the way this card turned out.

Thanks for taking time out of your day to stop by :)

City Crafter - The Key to my Heart

The key to my heart is the inspiration for the challenge at the City Crafter Challenge Blog this week.  I just happened to have some Valentine paper with little hearts, keys and locks on it and put this card together for the challenge:

This card is kind of busy; lately I have been making un-busy cards.  At first I thought, NO, too much, but I changed my mind and here it is.  I like to use turquoise and red together and this paper just happened to be those colors.

Thanks for stopping by today; we are having such nice winter weather here in Colorado :)

Artsy Trees

I pulled out one of my favorite Valentine stamps from Memory Box to make this card for the challenge at the City Crafter Challenge Blog this week; the challenge is called Artsy Tree, here's the inspiration photo:

and here's my card:

Winner - City Crafter - week 194

I paper pieced the hearts on the tree and created border's using the same pretty paper.  Then added a few pieces of bling for sparkle and a card is born :)

Thanks for stopping by today :)

The Card Concept - Challenge 1

I was so happy to discover the new challenge blog called The Card Concept!  I love the idea of this challenge with the different card styles and wonderful inspiration from the DT and now all of the wonderful cards submitted to the challenge.  I made my card using the "clean & layering" design.  I have been a fan of Kay Miller for a long time and have always loved her "style", so I took my inspiration this week from Kay's beautiful card.

The challenge this first week is to create with these pretty colors (just love brown and pink):

Here is my card:

Thanks so much for stopping by Today!!

And a wonderful day it is; our BRONCOS are going to the SUPER BOWL!!!!!

Winter Blues - LIM

Winter blues!  I have always favored blue as a Winter color, the cold of the air and snow is BLUE.  When I saw this week's challenge at Less is More I was inspired by Chrissie, Jen and all the wonderful "winter blues" cards being submitted to the challenge so here we go:

Now, I know Poppies are not a winter flower, however Blue poppies are so pretty and this Impression Obsession stamp worked so well colored with Stampin' Up markers.  I added a little Memory Box sentiment and viola, a card is born :)

Thank you for stopping by, still snowing here, keep warm wherever you are.

A Sky High Happy Birthday Card

I love to see vellum used on cards, however I rarely use vellum.  The other day I was in a craft store and I saw the cutest card made with vellum clouds, I've had those clouds on my mind and made this little card not only with the clouds, but for 2 challenges in mind:

Spotlight Artist - City Crafter - week 192

The little airplane and happy birthday stamp are from a Tailored Expressions stamp set that included the plane die (there are 2 plans & dies in this set and a few other sentiments).

I am adding this to the challenges at:

Thanks for stopping by, snow still coming down in my neck of the woods :)

Fusion #1 Challenge

I was so happy to see the 1st challenge of 2014 for the Fusion card challenge blog.  I enjoy the challenges at Fusion because we are given both a photo and sketch for inspiration.  Here is this week's Fusion:

I decided to use both the colors in the photo (so pretty) and the sketch for my card:

Honorable Mention - Fusion Challenge #1 - January 2014

And, even though we are having quite a snowfall here in the foothills of Sedalia, CO I couldn't help but break out some butterflies for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today, keep warm and dry :)
