A new home.....

Mike's cousin and his family have just moved into a new home; this is the card we are going to give to them when we see them:

I cased my card from a sweet house-warming card I saw on Pinterest a while back.  I made the little house because I didn't have the correct size house stamp for this card.  I like the way the house turned out.

We are having rain this afternoon, it's been nice to stay inside and create today :)

Inkspirational Challenge - Bloom

Here in the foothills our flowering plants bloom towards the end of May; I love the smell of the beautiful white and purple lilacs, the wildflowers in the field and the poppies.  This week's challenge at Inkspirational is the word BLOOM.  I recently found some pretty digital flowers on the internet and used these for a college graduation card for my friend's pretty and smart daughter, Jeanelle:

The background as well as the sentiment are embossed, darn it it's hard to see this in the photo.

Enjoy all the beautiful Spring flowers :)

Did someone say COFFEE?

I love coffee, love the stuff.  I drink coffee a lot, morning, noon and most times a cup after dinner.  So, when I saw this week's challenge at The Card Concept I jumped right in; oh yes the theme is coffee :)  I chose to use the clean and simple style for my card:

Here's the "inspiration" photo from the Card Concept:
Found the cup digital image on the net.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  Used most of the colors in the inspiration photo for my card too.

So, there you have it.  Thanks so much for stopping by today :)

Fusion - yellow, black & white

This week's challenge over at the Fusion Challenge blog is a sketch and the colors black, white & yellow.  I must admit, I sometimes have trouble with color challenges, so I was going to go with just the sketch.  However, I recently won a cute "Ketto" Stamping Bella stamp and took a try at using both the colors and the sketch for this challenge:

MY CARD WON HONORABLE MENTION

This little flower girl is so cute.  I cut 3 extra flowers to add some dimension to the card.

Thanks for stopping by, still snowing here in the Rockies :)

One layer thank you card

I've not been very good at making one layer cards, but I keep trying.  We have been challenged to make a one-layer thank you card over at Less is More.  On Friday my friend Terri and I went to a stamp show and I picked up the artsy stamp I used for my card, here it is:

Anyone who follows my blog must know I love butterflies.  And, I've always wanted a stamp with a guitar, so I just had to have this stamp called "Guitar Flourish" by Prickly Pair when I saw it.

We are having a Spring snow here in the Rockies, Brrrr :)
Thanks for stopping by today.

Colorful Sketch

I took this week's sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and made it colorful.  It all started when I was talking to my cousin on the phone while coloring the butterfly on the card.  I found some polka dot paper to match the butterfly, followed the sketch and ended up with this very Colorful card, don't ya think?

The stamps are Hero Arts, paper and dots not sure.

Have a wonderful Mother's day, if you don't have children, you are most likely a "MOM" to someone :)

Mom

My mother passed away many years ago.  She was a wonderful woman who loved us with all her heart as we loved her.  Ma's name was Rose and she was as lovely as a rose in so many ways.

Happy Mother's Day!

LIM - Color Challenge

There is a color challenge this week over at the Less is More blog.  The choice we are given is to use:
Three Colours
or
Three Shades of One Colour

I am into tossing splatters of liquid ink around these days, so I chose to use 3 colors on my card:

The hello stamp is from Stampin' Up, I just love this cheerful "hello".

Thanks for stopping by, wishing you a nice, relaxing Sunday :)

Just Us Girls - Sketch

I find sketch challenges to be my favorite and this week Just Us Girls is having a sketch challenge over at the blog.  Here's the simple card I made for the challenge this week:

Scramble 83 at the Hero Arts Flickr Group

The 90 minute scrambles at the Hero Arts Flickr group are among my favorite!  You get 90 minutes to make a card (or project) with the guidelines provided by the scramble's hostess; the hostess this week was Cat Craig.  Here's what I came up with:

Head on over to the HA Flickr group and check out all of the lovely cards submitted today!

It's Saturday, busy this whole day, time to relax now.  Have a good evening :)

April Card Chain Challenge at Deborah's Blog
