Enjoy the little things

The sentiment on my card is something that's so good to remember; like pretty flowers in the Springtime.  I made my card for this week's photo inspiration challenge at Just Us Girls (see the photo below).

The flower stamps is by Penny Black and the sentiment is from Altenew.  I knew I would use these big poppies the minute I saw the challenge photo; poppies are my favorite flower.

Thank you for stopping by today and a beautiful Spring day it is here on the front range :)

Happy Birthday Columbines

Columbines are the Colorado state flower, a pretty flower they are.  I put purple columbines on this happy birthday card, added a little purple stickles and a few white gel pen dots to the centers to complete the flowers.

I am submitting this card to this week's challenge at the Muse Card Club; this week's muse is a pretty card by Ishani (see below).  I was inspired by the flowers and layout on Ishani's card (although my layout is quite different).

So happy you stopped by today and a lovely Spring day it is :)

There is a sketch challenge this week at CAS Colours & Sketches; sketch challenges are my favorite so I made a card to submit to the challenge.  I used Altenew Rose dies and a bird and vine embossing folder for my card; added a little sentiment and some pearls and my card is done.

Blue Birds

This week at the Muse Card Club challenge our inspiration comes from a pretty card made by Kim Heggins (see below).  I used a Penny Black stamp and a Memory Box sentiment for my card.  I colored the birds with Zig markers and made 3 attempts until I colored the images on my card.  I then added a doily and a few white pearls and viola a card is born.

I took my inspiration from the cute blue bird on Kim's card, here it is:

Just Us Girls - Trend Week

This week's trend challenge at Just Us Girls is "Black & White Stripes".  I love to use black, white and red together and did just that for my card.  The roses and sentiment are from Altenew. The layered rose dies are new and I have already made 5 cards with them, just love this die set.  So, when I saw the challenge I immediately thought "one more rose card" in red with B&W stripes :)

So happy you stopped by today!

It's a Good Day to be Happy

Did you know it takes less facial muscles to smile than it does to frown.  So, It's always a good day to be happy :)

My card is made following the sketch challenge at Case This Sketch (see below).  I made my smooshy background with Distress oxide inks, the cute elephants and flowers are by Wplus 9 and the sentiment is from Mama Elephant.

Rainy Day Coziness

I just love this Newton's Nook stamp of sweet Newton on a pillow and some blankets.  When I saw this week's challenge at Inspired By challenges the idea for this card popped into my head.  I was inspired by the name of the challenge "rainy day coziness" and used some new rain & umbrella paper and cute Newton being all cozy on his pillow and blankets.

Just Because you make me happy

Altenew is 4 years old and they are having a blog hop on the Altenew Blog.  I am new to Altenew stamps and made my card with a set called "Sketchy Floral".  I used Bristol paper, Zig watercolor markers and put the sentiment on a piece of vellum.  Also, used Zing gold embossing powder to stamp my image.

I am putting this card on the Altenew blog.  Check out the hop and all the pretty cards that are being showcased.

So glad you stopped by today :)

Birthday Bunny

Cute, cute, cute!! This little bunny dancing on the birthday cake just makes me smile.  I made this card for the current challenge at Cupcake Inspirations (see photo below).

My inspiration came from the zig zags, and the white and pink bunny.  The stamps are by Stamping Bella; I colored the image with Prismacolor watercolor pencils.

So happy you stopped by today :)

Magical Butterflies

Last month I attended a class to make Heartfelt cards, the background lilac tag paper on my card was a piece included in the kit.  I cut 3 Memory Box butterfly dies, added some pearls and a sentiment from Poppy Stamps.

I am entering my card into the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  I altered my card a little bit and put the shape, sentiment and band towards the bottom of the card.  Here's the sketch:
