Hi

I have not posted a card to my blog in a while, busy making cards for a craft fair on December 4. So, I will post 2 pictures taken Saturday at the Air Force / Army football game at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. One of the pictures is Mike and I the other is of me and my 2 co-workers. Mike and I go to the inter-service game every year, they always have the best fly-overs at the game and we LOVE football. Mike was a medic in the Army, drafted right out of high school back in 1972, so of course we were rooting for Army, hate to admit this, but Air Force won. The games are fun, every time a score is put on the board the kids get out on the field and do push-ups totalling the score. Fun time for all :)

Cosmo Cricket Birds

I absolutely fell in love w/this bird paper by Cosmo Cricket the moment I saw it. It's just so darn cute. As much as I love this paper, it took me a while to come up w/ a card I liked using it. Well, I finally did and here it is.

The Hero Arts challenge this week is to use torn paper; I chose 3 different papers to tear for this card, the bird paper, another DP and chocolate brown paper.

Items used: Hero Arts clear design woodland creatures, Cosmo Cricket DP, Ribbon

Hello

Here's another card for the Hero Arts paper piecing challenge this week. I just love polka dot paper and this Heidi Grace double-sided dot paper is one of my favs. I have used this paper quite a bit and have many scraps, all used on this card. The cling stamp is from Hero Arts, Jennifer McGuire and Shari Carroll presented some cling stamps to the Flickr members when we met for dinner at ScrapFest 2009 in Minnesota and this was the fun cling stamp I received. Items used: Hero Arts hello cling stamp, Heidi Grace DP, jute twine, pearls. Colored w/ watercolor pencils.

Pine bough

This card is for the Hero Arts paper piecing challenge this week,I used some plaid paper scraps to make the pine boughs. Add a little ribbon and sparkly gems and done.

I am getting such a late start on making my Christmas cards this year. But, this little card has inspired me, so I will start w/ the Christmas cards this week-end.

Items used: Hero Arts big pine bough stamp, Stampendous sentiment stamp, ribbon and gems.

40th Birthday Invitation

A co-worker of mine has asked me to make invitations for her husband's 40th birthday. Here's a first draft. Still deciding what info we will put on the slide out card, most likely: date, time, location and for. Her husband is an avid bike rider so I used the little bike stamp I had on hand. This stamp is actually a women's bike w/ a basket full of flowers. I improvised and put the 40 over the basket and added a cross bar to the bike and Viola, a guy's bike :)

ATCs (Artist Trading Cards)

The Hero Arts challenge this week is to make ATC's. At first I was surprised by the small size of these little cards (2.5" x 3.5"). But, once I made one, I was hooked. We are also having an actual trade of "friendship" ATC's through the Hero Arts Flickr group which will start real soon. The idea is to make 10 ATC's w/ a friendship theme and send them in. The ATC's will be sorted and you will receive 10 back. I cannot wait to see the little pieces of art everyone comes up with. All Hero Arts stamps used for the above ATC's :)

Pumpkin Pups

Here'a another Penny Black stamp I just had to have. PB makes the cutest animal stamps and I have yet to see one I didn't want to add to my collection. This cute, little Pup balancing the pumpkin on his nose is one of my favorite Halloween stamps. I have used diamond glaze on the pumpkin and the pup's tongue, it's hard to see the effect of this w/ this picture, but it does give the card a special touch. Items used: Penny Black 2535J Pup-o-lantern stamp, Hero Arts CL238 boo owl-oween stamp, designer paper, twine, diamond glaze.
