PDCC 44 - Color Horibilis Challenge

I love the name for the challenge this week over at The Play Date Cafe, challenge 44 is called the Color Horibilis Challenge and the horrible colors are navy blue, mustard and hot pink. At first I thought, What!! What on earth am I going to do w/ these colors, but once I started, it wasn't such a hard color combo after all. Here's my submission to the challenge. Items used: Stampin Up heartfelt stamps, ribbon, Fiskars punch, HA gems.

Wonderful - PDCC #43

The challenge this week over at The Play Date Cafe is to use the colors in this refreshing photo: Doesn't this photo look good enough to drink? Greens and blues are my favorite colors and I find it so easy to use them when creating. Also, I think the Memory Box Fronds DP I used on this card is a perfect match for the colors this week. Items used: Memory Box Fronds DP, Stampin Up bird punch, Hero Arts Thoughts stamp, Nestabilities, ribbon, gems.

Block Art Birdies

This week-end Archiver's had a little coloring event, you could color using Copics, watercolor pencils (my favs), glaze pens (must get some of these), Inkadinkadoo markers and Gelly roll glitter pens (love these). They had images by Stampendous already stamped for you to color. My stamping buddy Terri and I went to Archiver's and colored away. I took a few of the stamped images home with me (yes, I asked if I could) because I like them so much. Here are 2 cards I colored and put together with this cute Stampendous Block Art Birdies stamp. I just love the cute little birds :)

Such a pear

I added this Penny Black pear stamp to my collection over a year ago. You know how sometime you just can't seem to create a card that is up to snuff with a stamp? Well, that's what I came up against with this little pear stamp. My favorite paper line, Cosmo Cricket, has this fun pear paper, I peared (:) it up with the pear stamp and I think I may have finally come up with a card I like. Hope you like it? Items used: Penny Black pear stamp, diamond glaze, Cosmo Cricket DP, rick rack ribbone and computer generated sentiment.

Coffee Anyone?

The minute I saw the new SU coffee cup rolly stamp I had to have it. I LOVE COFFEE, did you get that I LOVE COFFEE. My day evolves around coffee, first thing in the morning, mid-morning and in the evening after dinner. My parents always had a pot of coffee on the stove made with an old stove-top perculator and my mother, Rose, made the best coffee. O.k. enough already, my first card with this stamp, more to come :) Items used: SU coffee stamp, gems, Hero Arts good coffee, good friend stamp, jute twine.

Cosmo Poppies

Cosmo Cricket has this lovely patterned paper called Everafter that is used on this card. I find rust and muted orange tones are some of my favorite colors. I put this card together for Card Positioning Systems CPS 181, Part 1 challenge this week. Items used: Cosmo Cricket Everafter DP, Hero Arts Long Stem Flowers stamp, 3 punches, lace, pearls.

Here come the horses.....

I am lucky enough to be surrounded by horses and pastures at home. Although I have no horses of my own, many of my neighbors have these beautiful, muscular animals and I get to see them every day. The colors for this week's challenge #42 over at The Play Date Cafe are dark brown, green and beige - Horses seemed to be perfect for this color combo, here's my card: Items used: galloping horse stamp (don't know the manufacturer), Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday DP, crochet thread, gold embellishments.

Items used: Hero Arts Woodland creatures stamps, Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday paper and ribbon and a little gold star.

Live, Laugh, Love

The challenge this week over at 2 Sketches 4 You is Laura's sketch 58. I had stamped these poppies a while back and when I saw the sketch I thought of this card. Purples are so pretty for flowers and I was able to find 3 shades of purple to complement this image. Here's my card: Items used: Hero Arts long stem flowers and for you stamps, lace, MS punch and one pearl.
