No place to GLOW!

Here's the cue card for this week's challenge over at the CASology challenge blog:

With Halloween around the corner, I thought a Witch shoe would be the perfect center piece for my card

I saw this sentiment on a stamp and typed it on my computer in "Chill" font, thought it was perfect for these jazzy little shoes.  I added some gems to the shoes and the skirt for shine, oops I mean Glow :)  The witch shoes are from a Stampendous stamp that has 3 witches, as you can see I only used one.

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Vintage Lady

Graphics 45 is one of my favorite companies, I just love their designer papers.  A while back I had seen a beautiful card on Rebecca's blog Paper Primrose and was inspired to create this card using a new pad of Graphics 45 paper called A Lady's Diary:

I am sending this card to another crafter who participates in the monthly Card Challenge Exchange over at Deborah's blog, Society of Stampaholics.  The card exchanges are fun and you meet people from all over the world.

Well, that's it for today's post.  Thanks so much for stopping by today :)

A new member to our family - Katie

We have added a new member to our family, a chocolate Lab named Katie.  Katie's around 2 years old, she's a sweetheart, Angus and Pearl like her.  Boo, our cat, not so sure :)  Here she is:

Katie comes to us from our neighbor's dad.  Her dad is 83 and in poor health.  My husband, Mike is an avid hunter and this nice man was also an avid hunter.  We offered to take Katie and he was so happy because he knows Mike and I will not only take the best care of her, but Mike will hunt her.  We've only had her 2 days and we LOVE her :)

3 Little Dogs

Here is this week's sketch at the Retro Sketches challenge blog.  I recently re-did my stamping room. My friend's husband made me 2 tables that fit the room perfectly and eveything has a place (of course I can't find some things, but I'll get used to the new set-up).  Anyway I found a stamp I had forgotten about from 2006, a Great Impressions stamp, with 3 dog faces in dashed frames; just perfect for this sketch:

Here's my card:

Other items used for this card are Bo Bunny dot paper, Fiskars punch and a dog bone clip.  I added color to the dogs with watercolor pencils.

Out on a Limb

The week 85 theme at Less is More is to incorporate an oval into your card.  This little tree from a new MFT Pure Innocence set I have was the perfect size to fit into a little oval.  I added 2 little birds and the sentiment from the same set, a twine bow to finish my card and here it is:

Little Ghosts in the Window

Halloween is just around the corner; I Love HALLOWEEN!!  And, I just love the little owl ghosts I've used on my card, they are soooo sweet.  The challenge this week at the Case Study challenge blog presented the perfect opportunity to use the little ghosts.  The challenge is to case a Window card by Torico, check out her blog, great cards there.  Here's my window card for the challenge:

I used Hero Arts stamps, a piece of swirly design paper, distress ink, Nestie die for the window  and a marker for the orange moon.

Friends stick together

Here's another new addition to my stamp collection, a Pure Innocence stamp by My Favorite Things called "Out on a Limb".  This little girl is just the cutest.  When I saw this week's card to "case" by Torico at the Case Study challenge blog, I knew my new stamp was the one to use:

I added the little birds and sentiment included in the stamp set and paper pieced the dress with the same Memory Box paper used on the band.  I added a flower button and some green twine too.  The image is colored with watercolor pencils (as usual for me).

One Layer - Butterfly Branch

I added a few new stamps to my collection yesterday; don't you always feel so excited and happy when you do this? One of my new stamps is this Butterfly Branch from Our Daily Bread and it's perfect for a one-layer card.

It just so happens this week's challenge at Less Is More is to make a One-layer card with a FOLIAGE theme, so I put my new stamp to ink right away and here's the result:

In addition to the butterfly branch stamp, I added color with watercolor pencils, added a gem and a sentifment from Stampin' Up.

Thanks so much for stopping by today :)

Monochromatic Card

The challenge this week at the City Crafter Challenge Blog is "Monochromatic" aka "one color".  I chose beiges and browns as my colors and here is the card I made for the challenge:

I did add just a touch of light blue in the corner and on the butterfly's wing, couldn't help myself.  The butterfly is Memory Box Darla butterfly die cut.

LIM - Week 83 Color

We have a color challenge this week over at Less is More and the colors are 2 of my favorites to combine, Pink and Brown :)  I chose a pretty butterfly from Inkadinkado for my main card image:

The sentiment on my card is from Stampin' Up.  I added a gem and used a pink watercolor pencil to add some pink to this pretty butterfly.
