Less Is More - Sketch 7

This week's challenge at Less is More is a sketch.  I enjoy LIM so much as the challenge focus changes each week; here's this week's sketch:

A simple, little sketch it is and here's my card:

I used one of my favorite butterfly stamps from Inky Antics and put a little turn on 2 of the frames.  The cute little thanks stamp is from Memory Box.

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Case Study #114

This is a birthday card for my friend, Therese, who happens to be born on Halloween.  I usually make her a Witch card for her birthday, because witches are her thing.  However, when I saw the card for the case this week over at the Case Study challenge blog I used the card shape for my card.  Not sure how I came up with this for the case, but I did and here it is:

I used Memory Box paper from last year's Halloween paper pack as the background for my card.  The sentiment is a generic stamp I picked up somewhere?  I added a few gems and a rick rack ribbon too.

Thanks for taking a look today :)

Retro Sketches 35

This week is the 35th sketch over at the Retro Sketches blog.  I know I've said this before, but I really like these hand drawn retro sketches.  Here's the sketch we are to use for our card this week:

I used a little tree from Pure Innocense for my card.  Just stamped it a few times, added some designed paper for the hills and a little bird or two from the same set.

LIM - One Layer - Wings

As time goes on I am becoming much more comfortable making one-layer cards and this is thanks in part to Chrissie and Mandi and the Less is More challenges.  Well, this week's challenge  is simply that, make a one-layer card with a "wing" theme.  I chose to use an airplane for my winged object:

But OH NO!! After uploading this photo I realized my card is not in fact one-layer, OH for Heaven's sake.  Well, I'm going to put it into the challenge anyway hoping that someone can get a little inspiration from it.

I used Lawn Fawn Bon Voyage stamps, watercolor pencils and a little bit of gold stickles for the engine lights.

A guy's birthday card

I work with a group of great people, really, I like every one of the people I work with.  And, every time one of these lovely people celebrate's a birthday I make them a special birthday card.  It's one of the  guy's birthday's tomorrow and here is the card I made for him:

The man is one of the pictures from Graphic's 45 "A ladies diary", the embossing is a Sizzix folder.  I added some gems and ribbon too.  I'm pretty sure he's going to like this card, I sure hope so :)

Thanks for taking a look today :)

Thinking of you again

Not sure how many thinking of you cards I have made over the years; I'm sure everyone appreciates getting one of these cards though, I know I would be happy to know someone is thinking of me :)  I made this card for the October Hero Arts challenge and will be posting it to the HA Flickr group later today.

I used a Hero Arts sentiment stamp, Stampin up flowers and My Mind's Eye Stella Rose paper for this card.

LIM - week 88 - Color

I have not used embossing power in a very long time.  I love embosing, was so amazed when I first learned this technique.  I finally re-did my craft room and now have the space to emboss, so this week's challenge at Less is More was welcome, it's a color challenge and the color is Silver.  Here's my card:

I haven't found a real good way to photograph my cards, need to work on that.  The feather and background are Hero Arts stamps, the sentiment is Stampin' Up.

Little Ballerina

This cute little ballerina girl is a Lily of the Valley stamp.  I received her from another stamper who I exchanged cards with by the name of Deborah.  I'm going to give her to my cousin, Cynthia as a thank you for the birthday presents she sent me.  Cyn loves ballerinas and I'm pretty sure she will like this card:

I used watercolor pencils, markers, stickles, gems, Memory Box paper, ribbon and Viola!

Hope you're having a good week :)

LIM - Love & Marriage

This week's challenge at Less is More is a Lucky Dip - Love and Marriage.  I know a little bit about this subject as I have been married to Mike, my wonderful husband, 28 years.  The sentiment on this card is special and is fitting for the challenge.

I used Stampin' Up stamps, 2 ribbons, a lacey punch, stickles and pop dots.

Thanks for taking a look today :)

Follow Your Dreams

This is the last week for muse, Torico, over at the Case Study challenge blog.  We have been asked to case this lovely card by Torico:

I was inspired by the design of Torico's pretty card; took another approach with the colors used.  The sentiment stamp is by Stampin' Up and the butterfly die cut by Memory Box, here's my card:
