Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

My card was among the Featured Members on Muse Card Club

This is my card for the Muse Card Club challenge this week.  Please excuse the dark photo, my laptop is down and I'm using an older laptop and don't have the correct software installed (blah, blah blah).

Here is the Muse card by Jenni Murray:

Muse Challenge #196

My card was among the Top 3 Featured Members on Muse Card Club!

I made this card for this week's challenge at the Muse Card Club.  This week's muse is Tracey McNeely and she made the card below to inspire us this week:

My inspiration came from the red butterfly and the pretty font of the word lovely.

So happy you stopped by my blog today.  Only 9 shopping days until Christmas :)

Muse Challenge #195

This card was made for the challenge at Muse Card Club this week.  The dog die is from Penny Black, the set has a few cute dog cuts; this one is my favorite, the dog is ready to play and so happy.  The design paper was perfect for my card, not sure of the paper company have had this paper for some time :)

Here is the pretty Muse card by Anita Bowden:

Thanks for stopping by. Only 15 more shopping days 'til Christmas :)

Circles

It's been 3 months since we were in Africa, such an adventure, so many beautiful animals.  As you can see by my card I'm still in Africa mode.

I made this card for the challenge at AAA Cards, the challenge is the word circles.  After assembling the shiny silver dots and the circle die cut I thought why not add a giraffe to the mix.  Although a bit unusual for a Christmas card, I like it.  Hope you do too :)

Happy you stopped by today :)

My inspiration for this card came from this week's muse card by Tracey McNeely:

We finally had a little snow on the front range, winter is on the way :)

Read - Relax - Repeat

I made this card for the challenge over at Less Is More this week.  The challenge is to make a one-layer card with the theme Books / Literature and this stamp set from Newton's Nook was perfect :)

My sweet cat, Boo, sits and watches me while I'm on my laptop, well sits and watches is a stretch as he walks back and forth some of the time and steps on the keyboard and makes a mess of things.  I just love the little guy (see my sidebar for his photo).

Happy you stopped by today.  Hope you enjoy reading as much as I do :)

Ice Cream Birthday

Ice scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!  I still say this and think of how we used to run inside for 25 cents (yes, 25 cents) when the Good Humor truck came down the street :)

I made this card for the challenge over at Muse Card Club this week.  The inspiration card is by Anita Bowden:

So glad you stopped by today.  Think I'll go get some ice cream!!

Encouragement

I read, I read a lot.  Books are full of wonderful stories, history, chills, travels, you name it, you can experience it by reading a book.  When I saw this week's challenge at Just Us Girls I knew this was the stamp set I would use.   It's a word challenge and the word is "Encouragement".  There are many books full of encouraging words and phrases so what better card to make for the challenge.

So glad you stopped by.  The Little Prince, now there's a book :)

Vellum Butterfly

I always think of using vellum on my cards, but never seemed to get around to it.  Well, I finally did, the small butterfly on this card is vellum and I'm happy with the way this looks.  I borrowed the butterfly dies from a friend and although it's not exactly butterfly season I plan to make a number of butterfly cards with the dies before I return them.

I am entering this card into 2 challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Thinking of you
CAS(E) This Sketch - Sketch #197 (see below)

Thanks for stopping by today. Another warm, pretty day in the Rockies :)

Did someone say french fries....

Another new stamp set (can't help myself ); this set is from Wplus9 and is called Happy Birds.  I love these birds and the sentiments with the set are so funny (see what I mean).  I made this card for this week's challenge at the Muse Card Club.  My inspiration came from Estelle's card by:
  1. The 3 leaves in a row
  2. The geometric shape of the leaves (the birds are somewhat geometric too).
  Here is Estelle's pretty card:

Happy you stopped by today, fries, anyone?  Ha ha ha :)

I'm so excited and was so happy to receive an email from Ardyth asking me to be the guest designer this week at the Muse Card Club.  I am honored to be highlighted as there are such wonderful creative people among the Design Team and Guest designers and now my little card is your inspiration this week.

Here it is:

What will it be that inspires you?
The cute little donut girl?
The colors?
The design?

I will be checking in daily to see and comment on your creations.  So, head on over to the Muse Card Club for inspiration not only from my card but from the creative cards all club members will be posting.
Thank you Ardyth and the Muse design team for inviting me to be a guest designer on Muse :)

Muse Challenge #188

I made this card for challenge #188 at the Muse Card Club this week.  The feather dies are from Simon Says stamp, the circle die from My Favorite Things and the sentiments from Technique Tuesday.  Three different stamp companies and it all fit together so nicely.  I was inspired by this pretty card from Jenni Murray:

Thanks for stopping by, spread your wings :)

October 19, 2016

don't be scared....

It's Monster time of year and this little fluffy Gustav monster from Useless Trinkets is one of my favorites.  I colored Gustav with my Zig fluorescent markers and am entering this card in this week's challenge at Casology, which just happens to be Coffee.

So happy you stopped by today, enjoy a nice, hot cup of coffee :)

Inspired by all the little things

I discovered a card inspiration site that's new to me called Inspired by all the Little Things.  There are so many wonderful card makers in blog land that inspire me, and I'm so happy to have found this blog.

Here is the inspiration photo:
My inspiration came from the gourds and pumpkins in the photo.  Autumn is my favorite time of year and the stamp I used from Pink Ink fit this weeks inspiration photo well, don't you think?

Thanks for stopping by today.  Autumn, ahhhh :)

Spiders, ahhhhhhh noooo.....

This week's challenge at Less Is More is a Theme challenge - spiders or insects.  Spiders and I are not friends.  I have always been frightened by spiders, as irrational as this is, it's true.

Last year I won a little set from Mama Elephant and it not only had this cute sentiment but the spiders are cute too.  I know, crazy, cute spiders, ahhhhhh.  So I put the sentiment and spider (3x) to paper and made this CAS card for the challenge.  I drew the spider web dots.

So glad you stopped by today.
Halloween is right around the corner and spiders and other creatures will be out in force :)

Is that a Unicorn?

The challenge at City Crafter this week is "Did I make you Up?".  Marina ask everyone to make a card or project that may not really exist e.g. a monster or a mermaid or any mythological creature. I recently received a birthday gift from Simon Says Stamp, this sweet little Unicorn stamp set and was happy to put ink to the stamps for this challenge.

I used my Zig markers (just love, love, love them) to color the unicorn and the cupcake.  Put a little glossy accents on the mane and tail and the cupcake frosting.

Wishing you a magical Day!!

Muse Challenge #187

Hi there - I made this card for the current challenge at the Muse Card Club.  I used a portion of a wonderful stamp from Penny Black called "flower cascade".

Our inspiration this week comes from a very pretty card by Tracey McNeely, here's her card:

So glad you stopped by today.
We now have Autumn's flowers in Colorado = Colorful Leaves :)

Autumn Birthday Card

The challenge at Fusion Card Challenge this week is called "chairs to you" (see the photo below).  I made my card using only the sketch this week and put my leaves on the opposite side of the card.

We celebrate a number of birthdays in October and I made this card for one of my friends who has a birthday next week.

Here's the Fusion photo:

So glad you stopped by.  It's raining today and Autumn is in the air :)

Muse Challenge #186

My card was a Honorable Mention card at Muse Card Club on October 11, 2016!

Yup, Autumn is in the air now.  And, you can see the snow-capped mountains to the West.  I love this time of year, color everywhere, Autumn breezes and that first chill in the air.  Ahhhhh :)

This week's Muse card made by Anita Bowden is a beauty and gave such nice inspiration to make an Autumn card.  Here's Anita's card:

Glad you stopped by today, I'm taking a deep breath of this crisp, clean Autumn air :)

This is one of my favorite Whipper Snapper design stamps; I just Love Frankie and his little pumpkin friend.  I made this card not only for Halloween but for challenge #257 over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Here's the sketch:
Thanks for taking a peek today.  Halloween is right around the corner, BOO!

Autumn is in the air

The challenge at Just Us Girls is Leaves this week.  I chose to use a pretty leaf paper as background and one of the leaves from a 3-leaf stamp I use every Autumn.  The thank you die is from Penny Black.

The leaf on my card is covered in Ranger glossy accents crackle, here's a close up:

I was so excited when I discovered the crackle and love the way it looks on leaves.  I know this wonderful item will be used a lot in the next few weeks.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Enjoy this wonderful time of year :)

Muse Challenge 185

I am just loving these  Muse Card Club challenges.  I recently added Altenew's Hennah flowers to my stamp collection and when I saw the pretty flower card  Aileen Ryan made as the muse card I knew these new stamps were going to fit the picture :)  Here's Aileen's Muse card:

I can't seem to stop making flower cards.  A few months ago flowers started appearing on all of my cards and I'm just not ready to move on to Halloween, Fall and Christmas cards yet.  I better get moving though, it will be October 1st tomorrow.

So happy you stopped by today :)
