Muse Challenge #231

Cat Craig is the guest designer at the Muse Card Club this week and she has made the pretty card below for inspiration.  I took inspiration from the following items on Cat's card:

1)  A strip of white paper with flowers
2)  Hello as my sentiment
3)  String under the flowers

Here's Cat's card:

Happy you stopped by today :)

Oldie but Goodie

The challenge at Inkspirational this week is "Oldie but Goodie", use a stamp from when you first started stamping.  I have a number of stamps from when I first started stamping cards and this stamp by LaBlance called straw hat is the one I chose for this card. I used Zig markers to color the image, added some hemp string and a little yellow heart.

This is my first and only silicon stamp and when I got it home and opened the package I was very surprised.  I had only been introduced to wood and rubber stamps at the time and was worried that I wouldn't know what to do with this one.  To this day this is the only silicon stamp I own.

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Bring on the Happy

I find sketch challenges the easiest for me.  I see a sketch, visualize a card and go through my stamps and dies to put it all together.  I am entering this card in 2 challenges this week, Case this Sketch (see sketch below) and Seize the Birthday - anything goes.

So happy you stopped by today, bring on the happy :)

Muse Challenge #230

This week's card for the Muse Card Club challenge is a fun, summery card by Kim Heggins (see below).  I took inspiration for my card from the following details on Kim's card:

1.  Colors
2.  1 Main Image
3.  Sequins

Here's Kim's card:

Glad you stopped by today.  Autumn is in the air :)

Poppy Thanks

Poppies, my favorite flower.  I made this card for this week's sketch at CAS Colors and Sketches. For my card I used the "poppy fields" stamp from Stampendous, a thanks die from Penny black and multiple zig markers to color the poppies.

Here is the sketch:

Friendly Bonds

A new stamp and a new card.  This wonderful stamp is a Laurel Burch design distributed by Stampendous.  I am taken with Laurel Burch designs, already have 2 hand bags and 4 stamps by her.

Anyway, I made this card for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I turned the sketch clockwise as it fit the stamp image best.  I tried a number of times to color this image and finally decided on Derwent Inktense pencils and Zig markers.

Here is the sketch:

Listen Honey, Age Happens!

I love this stamp by Gourmet rubber stamps, she cracks me up.  And, at my age it works great for cards I make for my friends.  I am entering this card in this week's challenge at Fusion Card Challenge.  I went with both the sketch and the colors of the challenge inspiration photo.

So glad you stopped by today.  And as Betty Davis said:

Age marches on and it marches right across your face.

Haaaaa!!!!

Enjoy the Journey

I made this card for the Muse Card Club challenge #229.  We were given an adorable card made by Tracey McNeely as our muse (see below).  My inspiration was taken from the following:
  • Blue background
  • Lower right image
  • Upper left sentiment
Here's Tracey's card:

Heard you caught a Bug

I made this cute, little card for the challenge at Less is More; the challenge is to make a one-layer card with a vehicle.  I used stamps from 2 sets for this card:

Taylored Expressions - Wheely Great (VW and sentiment)
Poppy Stamps - Ornamental Butterflies (flowers and butterflies)

So glad you stopped by today :)

City Crafter Challenge #375 - You Don't Bring Me Flowers

Marina is the host of this week's challenge at City Crafter and she is asking us to make a card that has "NO FLOWERS" on it.  I chose to make my card using this Louis and Bronte stamp from Mo Manning.  I love how Bronte is licking the chocolate chip cookie Lewis is eating, and there is not one flower on my card :)

Please join us this week at City Crafter!

Multi-color Flower

I made this card for Muse Card Club challenge #228. Anita Bowden made the Muse card for inspiration this week and it's such a pretty and inspiring card (see below).

I used a die from Memory Box called honeyblossom sprig and a few different Stampin' Up inks to color my card.  I cut the die from watercolor paper, sprayed the cut die with water and smooched it on an acrylic block covered with a few different colors of ink.

Here's Anita's card:

City Crafter Challenge Blog - Paint Chips Inspired

This week at City Crafter, Kirsty has challenged us to make a card using paint chips.

Paint Chips?  I have to admit, this challenge stumped me.  I tried and tried to come up with something and just couldn't get there.  I came up with the card above and decided it was the best of the bunch, so here it is :)

I'm looking forward to see what you can do with paint chips!

Please join us at City Crafter.

Today is all about YOU

I like the challenges over at the  Fusion Card Challenge because you can choose to use the sketch, or the photo, or both.  This week I chose to make my card using the sketch as inspiration.  The sentiment and die cut are by Penny Black and the rose paper is by My Favorite Things.

So glad you stopped by today :)

Juicy Oranges....

I put this card together for this week's CAS challenge at Casology - Juicy.  When I saw the word "Juicy" I immediately thought of oranges.  There is nothing like biting into a nice, juicy piece of a sweet orange.  The stamps on this card are by Purple Onion designs.  I used Inktence pencils for the orange pieces.

Happy you stopped by today.  I just may go and have an orange now :)

Horses, Horses, Horses.....

I made this card for challenge #227 at the Muse Card Club - Anything Goes.  I used Distress Oxide inks, twisted citron and ocean spray for the background and stamps by B&J Art's stamps in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Thanks for stopping by today :)
